This place was probably better when it operated under the Marriott family. With new ownership, the customer service is atrocious. Here were a few of the issues I was faced with:- lady bug infestation in my room on day 1- new room on day 2, no cold water. The only way I could wash my face was by constantly flushing the toilet, which would cool down the piping hot water for a short period of time- no soaps or bath gels in the the bathroom- wake up call system did not work, causing me to miss my early morning flightAll of these issues were dismissed by management and they essentially told me I was lying. There was no sincerity and they genuinely didn't care. Would never recommend Elite Selection Venue Properties to anyone, take your money elsewhere. 4-star rating is a joke as well, the property is so dated that I'd say 3-stars is being generous.
Beautiful hotel, lovely room, staff was friendly and attentive before booking however on arrival they didn't give us much information in the ways of the spa and pool etc. We were left wondering around the hotel for a few hours waiting for the main bar to open as there was nothing else to do. I called down to the main desk in the end and they told me that the bar wasn't opening that night so we were just sat in the room watching telly. Turned out after we'd ordered room service, that there was a bar on the second floor that we weren't told about and by then I was already settled into bed. Quite disappointing however I believe that this was only an issue with the staff on the desk that day and not the hotel as a whole. Although I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.
Strangely quiet for Christmas but we had a nice time in a private dining room, sad to say the rather blunt table knives made cutting into the duck somewhat difficult and our request for additional Yorkshire puddings was ignored! Been before and will probably go again because hotel has many amenities in a good location.
Lovely place to stay. Staff hard working and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay here again.
A high-level hotel with a 20-pitch golf venue on half hill. The staff are professional, extremely helpful, ready to meet the demands of our conference. They came up with constructive idea and plans when we expressed our demand that seemed not be able to readily met. Nice, spacious, exquisite restaurant. Tables are arranged in good British style. The directors showed us two hotel rooms as we requested. The rooms are cosy, nice and very well maintained. They also feature a bar, a relaxation centre, and a swimming pool.
