I had a total knee replacement at the Yorkshire Clinic on the 18th September 2018. I had this because the pain from my arthritis had started affecting the things I enjoyed such as walking on the moor and bowls.I didnt feel ready to be discharged from hospital when I was as I was only able to walk with a Zimmer frame and not confident to do stairs unsupervised. The physiotherapy I received from the hospital was very limited: only 2 group exercise classes at 2 and 4 weeks after being discharged. They also gave me a booklet of exercises, but I was unsure if I was doing these right.I got in touch with Vision Physiotherapy and Jonathan came out to my house several times. Very quickly he built my confidence to start walking with sticks and corrected the exercises to make sure they were working the right muscles. We worked towards my goal of walking outside and sleeping upstairs again. Having these visits was a life saver, as I dont think I would have progressed without them. The service was professional and understanding to my needs. After 5 weeks of treatment from Vision Physiotherapy I am completing the stairs one foot over the other going both up and downstairs, I am walking around the house unaided and only require 1 stick to walk outside. I am back driving and have joined the gym to continue my rehabilitation. I would wholeheartedly recommend Vision Physiotherapy to anyone after a joint replacement, as I wouldnt be in the position I am today without it!

I have found my sessions at Vision Physiotherapy extremely helpful in learning how to manage and improve the back pain which was beginning to prevent me from enjoying my usual activities. Jonathan is a skilled physiotherapist who carries out a thorough assessment before providing targeted exercises which can also be carried out at home. I highly recommend Vision Physiotherapy.
Very good professional service. I leaned more about my calf strain and how I can manage my training and excerzise for prevention of it reoccurring. The series of calf strengthening excerzise that Jonathon gave me to do at home will help in the above.
I had an excellent experience of physio with Jonathan Picken. He examined me very thoroughly and analysed which muscles were causing the problems in my knee, gave me hands-on treatment and taught me exercises to do at home. He was positive and encouraging. After four appointments my knee is much better and I'm looking forward to the walking holiday which I was worried I might have to cancel.
